A state senator has died in a ridiculous gun accident, and it has made him a national hero. Everyone is searching for something; the local political leaders are looking for someone to fill his seat, his ex-wife is looking for a bugler to play for his funeral, and a host of other zany characters are looking for love, votes, the right casket, and a purple squirrel named Mel. In this madcap comedy, love, politics, and, well…everything is not what they seem.
Lemon Bay Playhouse, and many of the volunteers, are donating the facility and their time for this one night performance of the play, “Lying In State”. This benefit performance is planned for a night that the playhouse is normally closed. The Playhouse is donating ALL of the proceeds from this performance to the Friends of the Elsie Quirk Library. Reserved seats are priced at $25 for this fundraiser performance. Come out and enjoy a play and support the Friends of the Elsie Quirk Library.
The cast, seated (left to right) are Judy Glynn (Margo), Judy Tilley (Edna), and Trish Campbell (Buttons). Standing (left to right) are Gary Seddon (Fred), Bob LaSalle (Harry), Henry Reisinger, Jr. (Wally), and Jim Manns (Herb).
