PREPARE TO ACT!
Linda Ramzell, Instructor
Six Week Session – Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30, July 11-August 15.
Fee: $150 per participant
Limited to 10 students.
This class is for actors of all levels who wish to exercise and explore the acting craft. Linda will engage students in proven exercises designed to free oneself for onstage activity. Relaxation, improv games and listening and responding exercises will help students live fully in the moment and connect to the reality created through imaginary circumstances. Linda invites you to grow self-confidence and strength when taking on a role by promoting a joyful exploration of all you have to offer as a unique individual!
Students will perform in an LBP showcase at the end of August.
LINDA RAMZELL – BIO
In addition to film and television, Linda Ramzell has performed in over 300 productions in NYC and the greater NY area. She has appeared locally at Lemon Bay Playhouse, Venice Theatre and Cultural Park Theatre in Cape Coral. Favorite rolls include Elvira in Blithe Spirit, Belise in The Learned Ladies, Lady Macbeth in Macbeth and Martha in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Before joining AEA, SAG and AFTRA, Linda’s theatre training began at Adelphi University and later moved to Hunter College. Additional studies include classes at NYU, the Actors Studio and Sanford Meisner’s acting technique. She is excited to share her skills and experience with both seasoned and novice actors at Lemon Bay Playhouse.
ACTING CLASS: SCENE STUDY & MONOLOGUES
Steve Black, Instructor
Two Five-Week Sessions Meet Saturdays 11:30 a.m to 1:30 p.m.
Session II: July 18-August 15
Cost: $125
Session II payment due by July 13.
Limited to 10 students.
Steve Black’s acting class will focus on tools for approaching stage work using scenes and monologues from assorted plays. Physical exercises and script analysis will help students explore and interpret characters in works by various well-respected playwrights. Both new and experienced actors are encouraged to join and expand their horizons under Steve’s guidance.
Students will perform in an LBP showcase at the end of August.
STEVE BLACK – BIO
A graduate of Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio, Steve Black worked for fifteen years in NYC on television, Off-Broadway, and in cabaret performances. He toured as an Equity actor in live shows across the U.S. until returning to Columbus, Ohio, where he directed over 60 musicals, comedies, and dramas, including works by Shakespeare. As Director of Theatre at Fort Hayes Career Center, he prepared students for professional acting careers, many of whom are now successful on both stage and screen. Local directing credits include Lemon Bay Playhouse, Sarasota Jewish Theatre, and Theatre Odyssey.
AUDITION TECHNIQUE — BOOK THE GIG!

Six-Week Session – Mondays from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. July 13-August 17.
Fee: $150 per participant (due by July 8)
Limited to 10 students.
Students will explore the selection and rehearsal process for stage auditions and recording material for commercials and film (if desired). Cold readings and scene work will also be covered in Lee’s class. Outcomes include coaching for at least 2 contrasting monologues and song(s), if preparing for musicals.
Students will perform in an LBP showcase at the end of August.
LEE GUNDERSHEIMER – BIO
Lee is a multi-faceted theater artist who built and ran two theater spaces in NYC. He has directed over 100 plays, worked and performed in countless theaters across the nation, and has taught acting, playwriting and directing at five universities. His play “Incommunicado” was performed off-Broadway and nominated for three Audelco Awards, and his play “Pas De Deux” won Best New American Play on Theater Row in NYC. He taught audition technique for a decade at the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts Drama Department at NYU. He has taught, acted and directed locally at TreeFort Productions, the Hat, Manatee Performing Arts Center, Theatre Odyssey, The Mark Twain Society, and Sarasota Jewish Theater. 10 KEYS FOR CREATING A PLAY

Six-Week Session – Mondays from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. July 13-August 17.
Fee: $150 per participant
Limited to 10 students.
Learn the 10 keys needed for creating a story that leaps off the page. Starting with 10-minute plays, students will learn how to craft full-length plays through exercises in dialogue, theme and conflict.
