DeathtrapA Comedy/Mystery/ThrillerWritten by Ira Levin and Directed by Peter IvanovOct 17 - Nov 4, 2018
In this play the seemingly comfortably ensconced in his charming Connecticut home, Sidney Bruhl, a successful writer of Broadway thrillers, is struggling to overcome a dry spell which has resulted in a string of failures and a shortage of funds. A possible break in his fortunes occurs when he receives a script from a student in the seminar he has been conducting at a nearby college — a thriller which Sidney recognizes immediately as a potential Broadway hit. Sydney’s goal is to steal the script anyway possible! Sidney’s plan, which his wife fights him every step of the way, is to offer collaboration to the student, an idea which the younger man quickly accepts. Thereafter suspense mounts steadily as the plot begins to twist and turn with devilish cleverness, and with such an abundance of thrills and laughter, that audiences will be held enthralled until the final, startling moments of the play.
The crew for “Deathtrap” has been chosen and is currently in rehearsals. With a little coercion we were able to borrow them for a few minutes to take their picture for all to see. Seated (left to right) are Mike Gilbert (Sydney Bruhl), Jim Griesmeyer (Clifford Anderson), and Jim Parise (Porter Milgrim). Standing (left to right) are Dottie Warner (Stage Manager), Maureen Young (Helga Ten Drop), Diane Brin (Myra Bruhl), and Peter Ivanov (Director).
