Show Changes

Due to Hurricane Ian, the following changes will be happening.

  1. Sleeping Indoors is now cancelled and will not be rescheduled for the 2022-2023 Season
  2. You Know I Can’t Hear You When The Water’s Running will be moving to the next time slot – November 30, 2022 to December 18, 2022
  3. If you have a ticket for …Water’s Running, the number day of your ticket and seats will be moved to the next show slot. This means to ignore the date and look at the show number. Meaning Oct 19 is equal to Show #1, making Oct 26 equal to Show #6., counting forward to show #15 on Nov 6. This would then become Show #1 is Nov 30, Show #6 is Dec 7, all counting to Show #15 as Dec 18. Your seats will remain the same but on that show date. Check the ….Water’s Running Page for details. https://www.lemonbayplayhouse.com/events/you-know-i-cant-hear-you-when-the-water-is-running/
  4. Should you have season tickets or any ticket to the cancelled dates, you are free to make the donation to the theatre or call the box office after October 24 for a refund
  5. If you need to change the dates of your show from this change please wait until October 18 to make any adjustments

HURRICANE IAN

Like all of SW Florida, Lemon Bay Playhouse did have some damage due to Hurricane Ian. At this time, we will have to wait and make decisions on the next show of our season. Set building has been delayed due to the storm and the shed that holds our construction equipment was damaged. Please check back for details as we move closer to show opening. Thanks!

ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Lemon Bay Playhouse Updates Covid-19 Guidelines
Masks required for volunteers and patrons attending “Separate Beds”

Lemon Bay Playhouse continually reviews its Covid-19 protocols to ensure its procedures reflect current recommendations. With that in mind, the theatre updated its protocols on Aug. 25, 2021.

For Separate Beds, running September 8 – 26, mask-wearing is required by all patrons and volunteers in the auditorium before and during the performance, regardless of vaccination status. There will be refreshments at intermission, but they must be enjoyed by socially distancing or outside.

The theatre reminds patrons that any interaction with the general public poses an elevated risk of being exposed to COVID-19 and it cannot guarantee that patrons will not be exposed while in attendance.

These guidelines will be revisited regularly. Decisions about masking and other safety protocols will be communicated on a show-by-show basis. Changes will be announced prior to a new show opening.

To All Our Patrons and Volunteers,

It is with great regret that I have to announce that, due to the ever rising Covid-19 infection and the prediction that it will get much worse after the holidays, the Board of Trustees has decided to cancel the remainder of the 2020-2021 Season.  All of those with purchased Season Tickets or Flex Passes will receive a refund unless you wish to donate the amount to the theater to help with our on-going expenses during this trying time.  Please reply to this email if you are able and wish to donate.

However, the Board added a caveat:  if the situation has improved greatly in the Spring, we will possibly mount one or two shows then.  So, stay tuned.

In addition, we have already planned and secured the 2021/2022 Season which will commence in September of 2021 and will publish it after the holidays.  We will notify everyone when season tickets are available.

Sincerely,

Bob La Salle – President

Dear Friends,

After long deliberation and in light of the best advice regarding the pandemic from all avenues of information, the Board of Trustees has decided it is in the best interest of our patrons, staff, and volunteers to delay our opening until January 2021.  Our theater is not conducive for safe social distancing and we want to put everyone’s health and safety first.

We are eager to begin our 34th Season with the play ‘Art of Murder’, a mystery by Joe Dipietro.   Ticket sales and box office opening dates will likely be in November and communicated in the fall.  Season ticket patrons will be contacted regarding the shortened season and pricing.

Thank you for your continued support of LBP.

Board of Trustees

June 4, 2020

Dear Season Ticket Patrons,

Currently, we have cancelled the first play scheduled to start in September and tentatively will open the new season with ‘Separate Beds’ on Oct. 21.  This will greatly depend on the COVID-19 situation and the availability of actors and volunteers.  The cast needs to be chosen by the end of August and rehearsals then begin.  The official opening decision will be made by the Board of Trustees by or before August 31.

Season ticket prices are based on the cost of one less than the number of plays in the season plus one free ticket.  They were $138 and now, with only 6 plays, the new package price is $115. If more plays are cancelled, the price will continue to change.  Based on all the uncertainty, following are key points to understand:

  • Tentative opening in October will be confirmed by August 31.
  • All season ticket processing is On Hold and your seats are reserved.
  • 77 current season ticket renewals have already been processed and patrons will be contacted regarding the price difference.
  • Renewal forms which have been received and not processed are securely locked up.  Patrons that included a check will be contacted regarding the price difference.
  • We will not contact anyone until the official opening date is confirmed as the pricing may change.
  • As of now, the Box Office will open on September 8.  This will change if the second show is cancelled.
  • No season tickets can be picked up at this time as the Box office is closed.

I appreciate your patience as we navigate these changing times.  LBP’s first priority is the safety of our valued patrons and volunteers.  Several season ticket patrons do not have email.  Please share this information with those you may know.

Warmest Regards,

Deb Poling

LBP Business Manager

Email to patrons from Bob La Salle, Board President of Lemon Bay Playhouse

The Board of Trustees has decided because of the projected extent of the Covid-19 virus to cancel the first play, ‘Fox on the Fairway’, planned to start on September 9. Our hope is to open up with ‘Separate Beds’ scheduled to run October 21 – November 8.

No more season tickets will be processed, but rest assured all current season subscription seats are saved in current patron’s name. If your subscription renewal has already been processed, we will contact you personally regarding your refund. More information will be sent to season ticket patrons.

We will keep everyone informed of any further developments. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Lemon Bay Playhouse reserves the right to change the titles and the schedule of the events based on availability of the theater and actors. Any changes will be more than likely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As we make our way through these challenging times, difficult decisions must be made regarding the safety and welfare of Lemon Bay Playhouse, our actors, patrons, and the Community at large. As needed, we will be updating our plans and efforts to bring Performing Arts back to Englewood.

April 9, 2020

Dear Patrons, Volunteers and Guests,

As we make our way through these challenging times, difficult decisions have to be made regarding the safety and welfare of Lemon Bay Playhouse, our actors, patrons, and the Community at large.

It is the decision of the LBP Board of Directors and The Executive Staff to close Lemon Bay Playhouse for the remainder of the 2019/2020 season. This includes “Savannah Sipping Society” and Summer Program for Children “The Lemondrops”. We are planning to reopen and begin our 2020/2021 Season on schedule.

We stand firm in the belief that this pandemic will be over sooner than later and we, as an Arts Organization, Community and Country will prevail.

It is our hope to have a strong return for the LBP 2020/2021 Season, resume and move forward with our seven show season, unique and entertaining showcases and children’s programming.

Like many other Arts organizations, we are working on VIRTUAL ways to connect and stay in contact with our LBP family.  Virtual Meetings, Auditions and Presentations will become part of the  ever changing landscape of LBP communications and interaction.

Lemon Bay Playhouse understands how difficult this is for everyone. As we move forward, we hope to see you back at Lemon Bay Playhouse to enjoy our live presentations for LBP 2020/2021 Season.

We have scheduled auditions for FOX ON THE FAIRWAY in July and hope to have a strong turnout of actors, either in person or the “new normal” virtual auditions.  We are excited about all the possibilities the LBP 20/21 Season will bring to Lemon Bay Playhouse and The Community.

In the interim – we are working to keep Lemon Bay Playhouse a safe and up to date facility and  doing small renovations to stay productive and focused during this challenging time.

We thank you for your patronage and support and look forward to a bright and promising future for Lemon Bay Playhouse, our local thriving community and our great country.

If you have any questions, please contact the box office at 941-475-6756 or email at Boxoffice@lemonbayplayhouse.com. The box office is officially closed; however, phone messages will be checked.

Lemon Bay Playhouse wishes you Safety and Wellness.

Sincerely,
Bob La Salle, President
